Since it is very easy for hackers and malicious users to hack emails, send fakemails and craft specialized attacks. We have to be careful in our online world. Some security measures and countermeasures are as follows.
1. Verify the URL of the Webpage you are in before entering your login credentials to any site.
2. Never click on links submitted by any persons in some website or links coming to your mails until and unless you are sure it is safe.
3. Use Add-ons for browsers which stops the execution of javascript, like “no-script” addon.
4. Never share your personal details in websites like facebook, twitter, blogs etc.
5. Use a strong Password with a mix of characters of both case, numbers and special characters.
6. Set your answer to your security question in a way that no one else can guess the answer.
7. Don’t fall for fake mails claiming that you have won a large amount of money or a lottery or some free stuff. Nobody gives you free stuff.
8. Use a good antivirus and keep your antivirus updated.
9. Use a good firewall and update frequently
10. Update your browser as soon as a new version releases.
11. Use original software and don’t use cracked or pirated copies of softwares, 95 % of them have spywares or malwares in them.
